The seventh volume of “Historical Notes” continues the translation of the work of the ancient Chinese historian Sima Qian (145-87 BC) into Russian. The volume opens the 5th and last section of the monument - “Le Zhuan” (“Biographies”). Le Zhuan includes 70 chapters of biographies of more than 300 of the most prominent and significant figures of Ancient China. The book has 25 chapters, the characters of which are outstanding politicians, philosophers, generals, and poets. Through the dramatic turns of the personal destinies of the heroes, Sima Qian was able to give a multidimensional picture of the history of China in the 6th-3rd centuries. BC
