The eighth volume of “Historical Notes” continues the translation of the work of the ancient Chinese historian Sima Qian (145-87 BC) into Russian. The volume contains the next 25 chapters of the last section of the monument - “Le Zhuan” (“Biographies”). The chapters of the volume incorporate historical and ethnographic facts, information on ancient Chinese philosophy, military affairs, and medicine. Through the dramatic turns of the personal destinies of the characters, Sima Qian was able to give a multidimensional picture of the history of China in the 6th-2nd centuries. BC CONTENTS: A.R.
