Diary entries from 1939–1940, collected by their author, the German writer and philosopher Ernst Jünger (1895–1998), into the book Gardens and Roads, open a sextet of his diaries from the Second World War, collectively known as Radiations. (“Strahlengen”). The French translation of “Gardens and Roads,” published in 1942, the same year as the German edition, largely determined Jünger’s European fame as one of the outstanding stylists of the 20th century. The publishing layout is preserved in PDF A4 format.
