The book “Texts of the Pyramids”, edited by Chetverukhin, is an extensive collection of knowledge about the religion and culture of Ancient Egypt, based on the texts in the pyramids. These ancient monuments of a bygone civilization are of a ritual and often even magical nature, telling contemporaries not only about traditions and customs, but also about the view of the world of the ancient Egyptians. In this book, the reader will find three important sections. • First of all, these are translations of texts from the pyramids , made by Russian orientalist A.L. Kotseyovsky. All translations are provided with detailed comments and explanations, allowing one to understand the general picture of the cults, rituals and ideas of the Egyptians about the real and afterlife world. • The book also contains a number of articles devoted to the study of the texts of the pyramids. • Finally, readers will find in this work a large collection of photographs inscriptions from the pyramid of Pharaoh Unis.
