The book publishes for the first time a Russian translation of the Manchu version of “Anchun Gurun” - “The History of the Golden Empire” (1115–1234) - one of the masterpieces of the golden fund of Russian orientalists. “Anchun Gurun” is the result of many years of work by a special commission at the court of the Mongolian Yuan dynasty. The compilation of historical chronicles was completed during the reign of the last Mongol emperor Toghon-Temur (July 1639), and they were published, in accordance with the decree of the emperor, in May 1644. The Russian translation of “The History of the Golden Empire” was carried out by G. M. Rozov , who accompanied the Manchu text with his notes and extracts from Chinese chronicles. The publication of a fundamental source on the medieval history of the Far East is equipped with extensive comments, a biography of the outstanding Russian orientalist G. M. Rozov and an essay on the history of the Jurchens before the formation of the Golden Empire. The book is intended for historians, archaeologists, ethnographers and anyone interested in the medieval history of Siberia and the Far East .
