Anthony Michael Bourdain was born on June 25, 1956 in New York. While working as a college student in restaurants in the town of Princestown, he had already firmly decided to connect his life with the art of cooking. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1978, Bourdain worked at the Supper Club, One Fifth Avenue and Sullivan's restaurants in New York, rising through the ranks of the chef hierarchy. In 1998, Anthony Bourdain became the chef of the New York restaurant “Brasserie Les Halles”, now he holds the title of honorary chef of this restaurant. In the second half of the 1990s, Anthony Bourdain entered the literary path, releasing culinary-crime thrillers “ Bone in the Throat”, “Damned”, etc. He revealed the behind-the-scenes life of restaurants and some of their secrets in the article “Don’t eat until you read this” and in the book “Secrets of the Kitchen”. A year later, Around the World: The Quest for the Perfect Food appeared on the New York Times bestseller lists. Articles and essays by Anthony Bourdain were published in many magazines and periodicals: The New Yorker, The Times, Maxim, Esquire, etc. The famous chef became a prominent media figure. He participated in television series, cooking shows, and more than once acted as a judge at chef competitions.
