EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing. The person thinks about the traumatic memory while rapidly moving their eyes to the left and right. And emotions fade away. This is one of two methods officially recognized by WHO, its author is F. Shapiro.
All over the world, psychologists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and rescue services use the EMDR technique to bring people out of shock during mass disasters. However, this method is also applicable to more everyday stresses, fears, unpleasant memories: betrayal, memories after operations, rape, fights, fears of dogs, heights, airplanes, elevators, dentists, darkness, fear of getting sick - any phobias can be worked out.
The book is addressed primarily to ordinary readers, therefore it contains a large number of visual illustrations of all exercises.
