The second book “Akbar-name” tells about the childhood of the padishah Akbar. Through the dramatic events of the period of civil strife and wars, the history of Central Asia of the mid-16th century is revealed. The story of his life, captured by Akbar’s friend and adviser, allows us to understand how the character of the future great ruler was formed.
The text is supplemented with fragments from “Ain-i-Akbari” (“Akbar’s Institutions”), a unique set of documents on management and organization armies and economies in India during the time of Padishah Akbar. The book is accompanied by a detailed scientific commentary, name and geographical indexes, and is illustrated with reproductions of unique Persian and Indian miniatures of the 15th–17th centuries. from the collections of the State Museum of Oriental Studies, the Russian National Library and the St. Petersburg branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
