When objectively assessing the history of the development of German battlecruisers in the period 1907-18, it becomes clear that in terms of their qualities they were the best warships of that period due to the lower weight of the hull and boiler-machine installation, better armor, and also because that gunpowder charges for guns, if engulfed in flames, burned without explosion, as was the case on British ships. The main defect encountered during the battle was the flooding of the relatively large onboard torpedo tube chamber in the bow, which ultimately led to the death of the Lützow, although it would have been able to stay afloat if complete watertightness of the bulkheads had been the usual German standard.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
