The book you are reading describes a year in the life of a lonely, apparently middle-aged man living in a village. According to the calendar of the collection of poems - from the Intercession in the first poem ("The Intercession. But there is no snow and no...") to the Intercession in the final piece ("Oktoberfest, and then the Intercession..."). This is not on purpose. The puzzle just happened that way. Hence the subtitle of the book - “A Novel in Verse”. How did he, the hero of the book, clearly a city dweller, end up in the village? It's not clear. Who is he? Apparently a military retiree. But not a fact. Where are his relatives, family? Why alone? It’s not clear. Here, reader, is a great reason to finish thinking about this story. Or maybe write your own? So what is this book about?
