The book is dedicated to my father, Alexey Alexandrovich Voropanov. Tanker, colonel of the Soviet Army, holder of the Order of Glory, the Order of the Patriotic War, military medals “For Courage”, “For Victory over Nazi Germany”, and many other awards. The biography of dad and his generation is simple: school, the Great Patriotic War and then service to the Motherland for the rest of his life. He served in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, in the Turkestan Military District (the famous 201st motorized rifle division, currently the 201st military base of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan), taught at the military department at the Tajik State University. He was buried with military honors in the town of Liski, Voronezh region. Eternal memory to the generation of winners.
