The world-famous Israeli prose writer Meir Shalev belongs to the third generation of settlers who arrived in Palestine from Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. A brilliant polemicist, wit and master of paradox, he hosted programs on Israeli radio and television for many years, and writes a satirical column in the leading Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronot. The book “Russian Novel” brought Shalev success as a writer. Following it, “Esau”, “In His House in the Desert”, a retelling of the Old Testament “The Bible Today” were published in Russia. The novel “Like a Few Days...” is a dramatic story from the life of the first Jewish settlers in Palestine about the love of three men for one to a woman, told by the son of three fathers, whom his mother gave him an unusual name that protects him from the Angel of Death. Journalists in Italy and France, where Shalev collected a whole collection of literary awards, called him “the Woody Allen of the Judean Desert,” and the New York Times Book Review "compared him to Marquez for his ability to "create a whole world filled with amazing events and wonderful fantasies"...
