The Book of Manuel is the last novel by the famous writer Julio Cortazar (1914 - 1984). This is a kind of book within a book, made for two-year-old Manuel, by pasting newspaper clippings into an album, by his parents Susanna and Patricio, as well as their friends, young Latin Americans and French people living in Paris in 1970. The author describes the love, the small joys of the “mercilessly tender” heralds of the Big Butch, their “pocket” resistance to the hated society, the shockingness of the bourgeoisie. But now the childishness is over, a risky operation to take a hostage lies ahead
