A book by the historian of Russian philosophy and literary theorist N.K. Bonetskaya about the work of M.M. Bakhtin is the fruit of many years of research conducted during the perestroika era. The author's approach is marked by the spirit of freedom characteristic of that time - independence, in particular, from Bakhtin's authority. N.K. Bonetskaya sees the corpus of Bakhtin's texts as a single whole; Through all the chapters of her work there runs the conviction of the existence of a single philosophical idea of Bakhtin, the modes of which are the categories of dialogue and carnival, which have become general cultural concepts.
