In the book of the French philosopher J.-F. Lyotard's (1924–1998) Postmodernism Told for Children presents letters from 1982–1985 addressed to the children of acquaintances. The clarification “presented for children” does not mean “in a simplified form”; rather, on the contrary, it confirms the author’s concept of “childhood”, which is closer to the “event”. The latter is one of Lyotard’s main themes, discussed in detail in the book “Feud” (1983), with which this collection echoes every now and then. In addition to clarifying the concepts of “postmodernity”, “postmodernism”, “postmodernity”, a number of related problems are considered, mainly from the field of philosophy of politics (legitimation, totalitarianism, the relationship between democracy and republic). In addition, the author corrects his narratological concept, set out in the books “Pagan Instructions” (1977) and “The Postmodern Condition” (1979). Fully published in Russian for the first time. Just as national states fought for the development of territories, and then for the management and exploitation of raw materials and cheap labor, one must assume that they will fight in the future for the development information. Knowledge is not reducible to science and even to knowledge in general. Knowledge and power are two sides of the same question: who decides what knowledge is, and who knows what needs to be decided? In the era of computer science, the question of knowledge is more than ever becomes a question of management. Administrative procedures will cause individuals to “want” what the system needs for its effectiveness.
