In the book of the French philosopher J.-F. Lyotard's (1924–1998) Postmodernism Told for Children presents letters from 1982–1985 addressed to the children of acquaintances. The clarification “presented for children” does not mean “in a simplified form”; rather, on the contrary, it confirms the author’s concept of “childhood”, which is closer to the “event”. The latter is one of Lyotard’s main themes, discussed in detail in the book “Feud” (1983), with which this collection echoes every now and then. In addition to clarifying the concepts of “postmodernity”, “postmodernism”, “postmodernity”, a number of related problems are considered, mainly from the field of philosophy of politics (legitimation, totalitarianism, the relationship between democracy and republic). In addition, the author corrects his narratological concept, set out in the books “Pagan Instructions” (1977) and “The State of Postmodernity” (1979). It is published in full for the first time in Russian. For philosophers, philosophy teachers, sociologists, sociolinguists, art critics, political commentators.
