Johann Tauler (c. 1300-1361) was a student of Meister Eckhart and mentor to a wide range of German mystics. The sermons were a "practical guide" to the Kingdom of God for many generations and had a great influence on the development of theology and philosophy, from the young Luther to Schopenhauer. Tauler's practical advice on finding your way to God, self-restraint and renunciation of selfishness and egoism, having a timeless nature, seems especially urgent and timely now. Translation into Russian was carried out for the first time.
