For the first time in Russian, the novel “I Confess” by the outstanding Catalan writer Jaume Cabret is published. The book has been translated into twelve languages, and its total circulation is approaching half a million copies.

The hero of the novel, Adria Ardevol, a musician, art connoisseur, polyglot, reconsiders his life before an invisible broom sweeps away everything from his memory one by one events. He remembers his childhood and the loving care of his nanny Lola, his cold and pragmatic mother, his erudite father with his mysterious fate. The most valuable treasure of the antique store owned by my father was an ancient Storioni violin, on which lay the shadow of an ancient crime. However, it turns out that Adria’s life story cannot be reduced to several decades; it all began many centuries ago, in the Catalan monastery of Sant Pere del Burgal, and the sounds of a fantastically perfect violin created by a Cremonese master magically transform people’s destinies. As a result, the world of the hero of the novel is flooded with dark secrets and mystical mysteries, which will take years to solve.
