Two diary books from Radiations I are included in this edition. These are “The First Paris Diary” and “Caucasian Notes”. The “First Paris Diary” ends with the time of Jünger’s departure to the Eastern Front in the late autumn of 1942. “Caucasian Notes” cover the period from late October 1942 to mid-February 1943 and are highlighted by Jünger in a separate diary block, since they are thematically determined by thoughts and impressions, born of a trip to Russia.
