From the pages of the post-war memoirs of most German and foreign diplomats, Hitler's Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop appears as an unintelligent, poorly educated, smug, pompous and completely ignorant of politics. Perhaps in life he was not a very pleasant person. But what is more important for us is his foreign policy ideas and their evolution, his specific actions, as well as their effectiveness, and related events that had a global nature and consequences. Several tragedies can be traced in Ribbentrop's life. The tragedy of the leader's adviser, whose opinion is not listened to, but also not let go. The tragedy of a talented but weak-willed person who cannot insist on his own, but is not able to give up his own. The tragedy of a respectable bourgeois who got involved with revolutionaries. The Nuremberg Tribunal put an end to these tragedies, sentencing the minister to death.
