For the first time, an attempt is being made to bring together the works of Bella Akhmadulina, written over several decades of literary activity. This publication brings together most of B. Akhmadulina’s works in poetry and prose, as well as her translations. However, there are a number of unpublished poetic and prose works, the manuscripts of which were transferred by the author to various persons. Unfortunately, these works turned out to be inaccessible to the compilers. In addition, for various reasons, the following remained outside the three-volume collection of works by B. Akhmadulina: articles and poems published in the newspapers “Metrostroyevets” (1954 - 1955) and “Literary Newspaper in Siberia” (1959); a number of early poems published in periodicals and in the collections “Struna” (Moscow, 1962) and “Chills” (Frankfurt am Main, 1968); works for cinema (scripts for the films “Chistye Prudy”, “The Stewardess”, “Seasons”, “Green Meadow”, “Wreath of Sonnets”, etc.); poetic script for the performance “Miracles in a Carpet Bag”, performed together with mime artist Boris Amarantov; script of the musical based on the play by A.N. Ostrovsky “Don’t get into your own sleigh”; interview; some articles, speeches and poetic translations. Works are published mainly based on the texts of recent publications. In cases where the compilers had the opportunity to compare the texts of existing publications with manuscripts, it was possible to restore a number of non-author abbreviations. The texts included in this collection are distributed according to thematic and chronological principles. Volume 1 includes poems (1954-1979); translations from Georgian poetry; fiction. The 2nd volume consisted of poems (1980-1996); translations; memories. Volume 3 includes poems; poetic dedications and dedicatory inscriptions; poems for children; translations from European poetry; section “Poet about the poet”; articles and speeches; prefaces to author's collections, magazine and newspaper publications, gramophone records; reviews; “Dedication to ladies and gentlemen...” A number of works by B. Akhmadulina are published for the first time in this publication.
