This publication begins the book series “Interpretation of Sources of Law”, aimed at historical, comparative and applied research into the processes of interpretation of sources of law. The book examines various aspects of interpretation, analyzes the role of new approaches, and provides a detailed description of the modern classification of the doctrine of interpretation. The study contains a comparative analysis of the American, Scandinavian and Russian versions of legal realism, a description of the peculiarities of interpretation in religious legal families. The hermeneutic approach to the interpretation of law and the French doctrine of interpretation are presented, the interpretative acts of the European Court of Human Rights are characterized, and their significance for the Russian legal order is assessed. The conducted study of various aspects of the interpretation of law and law contributes to the knowledge of the doctrine of interpretation inherent to the state, the use of its laws for scientific and practical purposes.
