In the vast creative heritage of the classic of world literature Giovanni Boccaccio (1313–1375), poetry has always been in the shadow of the Decameron, the immortal masterpiece of his prose. Meanwhile, throughout his life he wrote love lyrics dedicated to his beloved Mary (whom he called Fiammetta - “light”), poems, and studies of Dante’s legacy. The poems, the best of which are quite comparable in skill to the works of Francesco Petrarch, have become a kind of recording of his feelings and thoughts: from the inspiration of his ardent youth to the philosophical and often bitter thoughts of his mature years. For the first time, a complete set of the poet’s lyrics has been published in Russian, including poems from “ Decameron", in new translations by Alexander Triandafilidi and Vladimir Oslon. The publication also includes the poem “Diana’s Hunt.” The book is illustrated with engravings by the 19th-century French artist Toni Joanno (1803–1852).
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.

Книга "Душа любов'ю полонена..." є справжнім скарбом для всіх шанувальників поезії та класичної літератури. Джованні Боккаччо, відомий більше завдяки своєму "Декамерону", в цій збірці віршів відкриває нам свою душу, сповнену любові, натхнення та глибоких роздумів. Вірші, присвячені його коханій Фьямметті, вражають своєю емоційністю та майстерністю, порівнянною з творами самого Петрарки. Я особливо вражений якістю перекладу, який, незважаючи на деякі недоліки, зумів передати дух оригіналу. Ілюстрації Тоні Жоанно додають візуальної привабливості виданню, роблячи його ще більш цінним. Ця книга не лише дозволяє зануритися в епоху Ренесансу, але й спонукає до роздумів про любов, втрати та людські почуття. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує поезію та хоче відкрити для себе нові грані класичної літератури!
