The play “Fredegunda” is another appeal by Peter Hax to the events of bygone days. The plot centers on a real historical figure, Fredegund. Literally, this name is translated from Old High German as “peaceful warrior.” Fredegund was queen of the Franks in the 6th century. But at the beginning of her journey she was just a simple concubine. Fredegund killed the wife of the Frankish king Galsvinta and took her place, making enemies for herself and continuing the struggle for the power she received.

П'єса "Фредегунда" - це неймовірне занурення в історію, яке відкриває перед читачем образ однієї з найцікавіших жінок свого часу. Фредегунда, як "мирна войовниця", вражає своєю рішучістю та прагненням до влади, що робить її персонажем, який запам'ятовується. Автор, Петер Хакс, майстерно відтворює атмосферу VI століття, передаючи всі нюанси політичних інтриг та особистих драм. Незважаючи на те, що текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, якість перекладу в основному висока, а деякі неточності лише додають особливого шарму цій п'єсі. Я рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, жіночими образами в літературі та просто любить захоплюючі сюжети, що змушують замислитися про силу та слабкість людини.
