A play for a one-man show, where it is already stated in the text itself that Mr. Von Stein (silently present on the stage) is a doll. His wife Charlotte was Goethe’s muse and trustee for ten years, at the time they met a very young man, daring, talented and unable to behave at court. Throughout all five segments there is a multifaceted monologue, structured like a lawyer’s defense speech, or, if you prefer, a confession. At the same time, Mrs. von Stein does not skimp on details, presenting Goethe at times as a terrible person, complex, sometimes going beyond what one can close one’s eyes to, keeping in mind his talent. But it's all one story. A story of complex, intricate, at times philosophical love with a completely unpredictable ending.
