Книга "Кошмар у Берліні" є потужним і глибоким дослідженням післявоєнної Німеччини, яке змушує читача задуматися про моральні дилеми та відповідальність. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу зруйнованого Берліна, де жителі стикаються з наслідками своїх дій і злочинів попередніх поколінь. Герой Фалади, хоч і не винен у військових злочинах, відчуває тягар провини, що робить його персонажа надзвичайно реалістичним і близьким. Книга змушує замислитися про те, як колективна пам'ять та історичні травми впливають на сучасність. Вона не лише розкриває жахи війни, але й показує, як важливо вчитися на помилках минулого. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які не зменшують загальної сили тексту, ця книга безумовно заслуговує на увагу.
