The greatest English poet A.E. Houseman (1859–1936), has been known in Russia since the 1930s, but has never been published as a separate book. This edition, prepared by the website "Century of Translation", includes about two-thirds of Houseman's poetic heritage; Some poems are given in several translations. The book ends with Houseman’s parody of ancient drama translated by M.L. Gasparov, as well as the key lecture for understanding the work of the poet-philologist “The Name and Nature of Poetry.”
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
