The book includes poems by English poets from the era of Queen Victoria (19th century). There are 57 poets in total, different in style, school, worldview, talent and, finally, in their significance in the history of English literature. Their work represents a continuous process of development of English poetry, starting from the Renaissance, and is especially noticeable in the extremely important theme for all poetic souls - the theme of love. In this book, the reader will meet familiar names: William Blake, George Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Wordsworth, John Keats, Robert Browning, Alfred Tennyson, Algernon Charles Swinburne, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde, as well as poets unfamiliar or completely unknown. Many works have been translated into Russian for the first time. The publication is accompanied by an article, comments and short introductory biographies of each poet.
