The first edition of this book, published in 2018, was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of I.B. Golitsyna. Its relevance, in addition to the anniversary date, is due to the fact that the translation into Russian of Irina Borisovna’s wonderful memoirs, beautifully done by EL. Stepanova, married to Baroness Scammacca del Murgo, remained, in modern terms, unclaimed: the text was little noticed not only by the general public, but also by specialists. At the same time, from the original publication prepared by the writer Cinzia Tani on the basis of conversations with Golitsyna and from a mass of various types of printed reviews and interviews, we removed fragments intended for the Italian reader, with a retelling, sometimes inaccurate, of historical events that took place in Russia. At the same time, we tried to comment on various circumstances and clarify information. The publishing layout was saved in PDF A4 format.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
