For the first time, the memoirs of the emigrant writer Leonid Nikolaevich Kutukov (St. Petersburg, 1897 - Nice, 1983), who wrote under the pseudonym Nikolai Kremnev, are published. Their first part details the young officer’s impressions of the tragic fall of the Russian monarchy and the responsibility of the “Februaryists” who prepared the future path to the Bolshevik dictatorship; in the second - a unique story about the white underground in red Petrograd in 1919. The memoirs are supplemented by an extensive corpus of historical and autobiographical essays collected by the compilers from hard-to-find periodicals of the Russian Diaspora.
