This book by Boris Poplavsky (1903–1935), one of the most prominent poets of the Russian diaspora—his contemporaries called him “the prince of the kingdom of Montparnasse,”—was prepared for publication by the author himself, but never saw the light of day. And now, 65 years after its creation, “Automatic Poems” (1930–1933), the existence of which even specialists did not know until recently, were discovered in the Paris archive of the poet’s friends D. and N. Tatishchev. Published for the first time. The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
