The first complete Russian translation of the novel by the German romantic writer Ludwig Tieck (1773-1853) “Vittoria Accorombona” (1840) reveals the late Tieck, still unknown in Russia, who created many stories and short stories on historical themes. The novel centers on events in Italian history at the end of the 16th century. The fate of the poetess Vittoria Accorombona, her life and tragic death are shown by the author against the backdrop of a panorama of Italian reality, the anarchy that reigned in the dwarf Italian states. Participants in the events include Pope Sixtus V, the deeply unhappy great poet Torquato Tasso, as well as humble townspeople and hired killers.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
