Published in 1970 by the Parisian publishing house Minuit, Alain Robbe-Grillet's novel The Project for a Revolution in New York is one of the fundamental texts of 20th-century literature. In it, the French writer for the first time uses a number of techniques - derealization of the scene, “serialization” of characters, irreducible multiplicity of plots - which have influenced the development of cinema, literature and philosophy in recent decades. In this novel, Robbe-Grillet complements the "materialism" of his earlier books with a radical bracketing of the subject, direct narration and descriptive procedures of the traditional novel. The influence of Robbe-Grillet's innovations on the contemporary cultural context is analyzed in the classic texts of Maurice Blanchot, Rolland Barthes, Michel Foucault and in the foreword by Mikhail Ryklin.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
