Japanese poetry is graceful, laconic, so different from the work of Western poets - a unique phenomenon. And many experts believe that it was the era of the Silver Age (the end of the 19th - the first half of the 20th century) that represents the period of the highest flowering of Japanese verse. This anthology, prepared by the famous orientalist and translator of Japanese poetry Alexander Dolin, includes works by the greatest poets of the Silver Age (among which there are such illustrious names as Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Natsume Soseki). The book is complemented by introductory articles and notes that recreate the panorama of numerous poetic schools and movements of the Silver Age.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
