One of Agnon's most remarkable stories, written in his mature years (in 1948), is usually considered "coded", "ciphered" and difficult to understand. This story shows our reader another face of Agnon, as the critic (G. Weiss) noted: “There are two Agnons: Agnon of the novel “Greeting of the Bride,” the stories “In the Bloom of Years” and “In the Heart of the Seas,” and there is a completely different Agnon: Agnon the story “Edo and Einam.”
