The memoirs of the American Slavist, head of the Ardis publishing house Karl Proffer describe his meetings with Nadezhda Mandelstam, conversations with Elena Bulgakova, and visits to Lilya Brik. Proffer did not have time to finish much of what he had planned, and a book about the literary widows of Russia was prepared and published by his wife Ellendea Proffer in 1987, after his death, but only now translated into Russian. And notes about Joseph Brodsky, with whom Karl and Ellenday had a long-term friendship, are being published in full for the first time. The book contains obscene language.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.

Неперевершене літературне відкриття!
Книга "Без купюр" - це справжній скарб для всіх, хто цікавиться російською літературою та її видатними постатями. Спогади Карла Проффера про його зустрічі з такими легендами, як Надія Мандельштам, Олена Булгакова та Ліла Брік, відкривають нові грані їхніх особистостей і творчості. Автор вміло передає атмосферу часу, в якій живуть ці видатні жінки, і їхній вплив на літературний процес. Особливо вражають нотатки про Йосипа Бродського, які публікуються вперше, адже вони дозволяють заглянути за завісу дружби та творчості. Хоча книга була підготовлена після смерті Проффера, його голос і думки живуть у кожному рядку. Переклад, хоч і має деякі недоліки, все ж передає дух оригіналу, і це важливо для розуміння контексту. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче поринути в світ російської літератури та дізнатися більше про її видатних представників!
