The author of this book was faced with the difficult task of briefly introducing the reader to cities that are known to everyone and yet are not fully understood by anyone, even those who live in them. Both cities, by the way, are completely different from each other either in appearance or in essence, were too often presented in literature, so finding something new in their history and culture turned out to be almost impossible. However, a way out was found: the form of description was borrowed from the historians of the Renaissance, that is, those who talked about Florence and Genoa, unaware of their greatness. The author of this publication not only suspects about it, but also knows for sure, therefore the story about the events that once took place in the capitals of Tuscany and Liguria is accompanied by delight, without which the presentation of these truly beautiful cities is unthinkable.

Автору вдалося втілити в життя складну задачу – коротко, але змістовно познайомити читача з цими двома містами, які, незважаючи на свою популярність, залишаються загадковими для багатьох. Я вражений, як вдало автор використовує стиль істориків Ренесансу, що надає тексту особливого шарму та глибини. Читання цієї книги – це подорож у часі, де кожна сторінка наповнена захопленням та любов'ю до культури і історії Флоренції та Генуї.
