The leader of the “new novel” Alain Robbe-Grillet is also known for his work in cinema. He wrote the script for the famous film “Last Summer in Marienbad” and directed “Trans-European Express”, “The Man Who Lies”, “Heaven and After”, “Playing with Fire” and other films. Literature and cinema in the work of Rob-Grillet seem to transform into each other: in his novels he used elements of cinematic thinking, and his cinema is a continuation of literary experiments.
