This is the tale of the Poor Knight, a noble idealist who is as brave as he is naive. Left without an inheritance, he lives in his dilapidated castle and cultivates the land himself. His only servant, the cunning Kaspar, is insanely devoted to his master, although he constantly complains about his grotesque nobility, which time after time leaves them without a means of subsistence. And then, one fine day, the King of Roses calls on all his knights to fight the dragon Firedysh, and our hero sets off to meet his fate.
