The famous story about the love of Helen and Paris, which led to war and the fall of Troy. In Peter Hacks's play, the story is described only up to the departure of Helen and Paris to the cries of dishonor from Agamemnon and other Greek kings. Despite the general pathos of the plot, the author of the play made a remark that everything that happens should be nothing more than an illusion of some perfect world, where not only vices look attractive in the eyes of ordinary people, but also virtues. Thus, the pathetic ancient story, familiar to almost everyone from childhood, acquires shades of farce and irony, addressed to the foundations and psychology that are familiar and understandable to us.
