We ask those who have a bad sense of humor, as well as bigots and moralists, not to worry. For those who appreciate a good joke and paradoxical plots, we are pleased to present Christopher Moore’s novel “The Fool”, translated into Russian for the first time. Refusing dogma and overthrowing all conceivable authorities, Moore tells the story of King Lear, familiar to every more or less educated person. Only, unlike Shakespeare, he does it cheerfully, with jokes that go beyond the brink of foul. Of course: after all, the main character of his novel is Lear the jester Karman, a sneer, an intriguer, a cunning and a brilliant strategist.
