The first major novel by the famous French writer Gustave Flaubert, written in 1843–1845. Like most of his works created before Madame Bovary, the author put it “on the table” and never tried to publish it. It was only four years later that he used this title for another book, which is today known as Sentimental Education. A revolution in the novel's fortunes occurred in 1963, when its first separate edition appeared, and since then it has been reprinted several times in France. This is a completely independent work, telling the story of two young men - Henri and Jules - whose stories develop in parallel and are told in alternating chapters. The novel is published in Russian for the first time.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.

Вражаюче відкриття класики!
Цей роман Гюстава Флобера став для мене справжнім відкриттям. Хоча він був написаний у 19 столітті, його теми та переживання персонажів залишаються актуальними й сьогодні. Історії Анрі та Жюле, які розвиваються паралельно, захоплюють з перших сторінок. Флобер майстерно передає емоції та внутрішні переживання своїх героїв, змушуючи читача задуматися над складнощами юнацьких почуттів і стосунків. Якість перекладу, хоча й має деякі недоліки, не заважає насолоджуватися глибиною тексту та стилем автора. Ця книга не лише знайомить з раннім творчим шляхом Флобера, але й відкриває нові горизонти для розуміння його подальших творів. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує класичну літературу та хоче зануритися в світ емоцій і почуттів, які вражають своєю щирістю!
