The collection “The Decline of Carthage” opens the “Eternal City” series, which will include novels and stories telling about the emergence, flourishing and collapse of the Roman Empire. This is a fictionalized history of the most interesting period in the life of mankind. “All roads lead to Rome,” our ancestors said, and the Eternal City is still alive in our language, philosophy, and culture. The first issue included the novels by G. Flaubert “Salammbô” and J. Lindsay “Hannibal”, which became classics of the historical genre.
