U. Morris (1834 - 1896) is better known in Russia as an artist and propagandist of socialist ideas, but this edition of one of Morris’s best Novels, “Waters of the Wonderful Islands,” will allow the reader to take a fresh look at the work of this writer, a classic of English literature, an enthusiastic singer of the Middle Ages, one one of the founders of the “fantasy” genre, who successfully used the traditions of the “Gothic” novel in his books.

Автор, відомий своїми соціалістичними ідеями, демонструє в цій роботі свою майстерність у створенні живих персонажів та захоплюючих сюжетів. Читачі отримують можливість насолодитися не лише захоплюючою історією, але й глибокими філософськими роздумами, які пронизують текст. Хоча переклад, здійснений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, має деякі недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися красою Моррісового стилю. Книга є чудовим доповненням до бібліотеки кожного шанувальника фентезі та класичної літератури. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто хоче відчути магію стародавніх островів і зануритися в світ, де реальність переплітається з фантазією.
