After the novel “The Karnovsky Family” and the collection of stories “The Stranger”, another book by the remarkable prose writer, one of the best stylists of Yiddish literature, Yisroel-Yeshua Singer (1893–1944), is being published in the “Prose of Jewish Life” series. The elder brother and mentor of the Nobel laureate in literature, I.-I. Singer is in no way inferior to him in insight and skill. This collection includes three stories, the action of which takes place in Ukraine, from a Jewish town to the Black Sea region engulfed in the Civil War.
