Yisroel-Yeshua Singer (1893–1944) is the largest Jewish prose writer of the 20th century, a writer without whom it is impossible to imagine prose in Yiddish. The book “About a World That No More” is the writer’s unfinished memoirs, which he began working on in 1943, but the work had barely begun was interrupted by sudden death. A relatively small fragment was published posthumously. Equipped with comments, notes and a glossary, Singer’s memoirs, which tell the story of the writer’s childhood, will undoubtedly attract the attention of readers.
