The collection “On a Foreign Land” by Yisroel-Yeshua Singer (1893–1944), one of the best stylists of Yiddish literature, includes stories and stories written in the first half of the twenties of the last century in Warsaw. The writer's creativity is focused on the inner world of a person, his actions, their causes and consequences. In the works of Singer included in this book, a deep knowledge of life material and the talent of an innovative writer are clearly visible.
