An extremely realistic book by the famous Swedish writer Annika Thor (born 1950) about teenagers. Her characters are girls who turn out to be just as prone to emotional abuse and insensitive to ethical boundaries as the characters in Golding's Lord of the Flies. Twelve-year-old Nora, trying to win back her friend's affection and afraid of losing her place in class, resorts to meanness. And when it turns out that Karin, a ridiculous girl with a big bust who is rejected by her classmates, wants to communicate with her and is ready to cover for her, Nora is faced with a choice: “sink” into friendship with Karin or follow the lead of her ruthless classmates.
