Pascal Quignard, French novelist and essayist, laureate of the Prix Goncourt, is also known as a professional cellist who devoted a significant part of his life to performing and organizing music festivals, mainly dedicated to the music of the Baroque era. He expressed his selfless devotion to music not only in novels such as All the Mornings of the World, Villa Amalia and The Salon in Württemberg, but also in several essays, profound in essence and original in form.
