Belgian writer Jean Ray, (real name Raymond Jean Marie de Cremer) (1887-1964), one of the most outstanding European mystical short stories of the 20th century, is known quite well in Russia, but only in selected passages. This “Belgian Edgar Poe” wrote in two languages - Belgian and Flemish - and under dozens of pseudonyms, and his work is still far from being studied and not even fully collected. In his next volume of collected works, offered to readers, for the first time in Russian Three more collections of short stories are being published in full. Most of the stories are published in Russian for the first time. Like the first volume of the collected works, the publication is supplemented with new original illustrations by Yulia Kozlova.
